Frequently asked questions
Atelier includes a range of creative tools designed specifically for crafting.
Some examples include:
Move Tool – Move and position elements on the canvas.
Resize Handles – Scale elements larger or smaller.
Rotate Tool – Rotate images or layers.
Crop Tool – Trim parts of an image or element.
Text Tool – Add titles, sentiments and wording to your design.
Layer Controls – Organise elements above or below each other.
Each tool is designed to be simple and intuitive so you can focus on creating rather than learning complex software.
When installing Atelier you may see a blue Windows security screen that says “Windows protected your PC.”
This happens because Atelier is a newly released application and Windows does not yet recognise the publisher.
To continue installing:
1. Click More Info
2. Click Run Anyway
This will allow the installer to continue normally.
Atelier is safe to install and does not contain any harmful software.
The Collections Vault is where Atelier stores and organises your craft elements.
To add new items:
1. Open your Collections Vault folder on your computer (C:\Users[Your Username]\Documents\Atelier by Pearlywinks\Collections Vault)
2. Create a new folder or copy your images into an existing collection
3. Restart Atelier or refresh the vault
The new assets will automatically appear in the Collections Vault ready to use.
Getting started with Atelier is simple. Within a few minutes you can begin creating your own printable craft designs.
1. Open Atelier
Launch the Atelier application from your computer.
You will see the main workspace where you can begin creating a new design.
2. Browse the Collections Vault
The Collections Vault contains your craft images, papers and design elements.
You can browse through your collections and choose items you would like to use in your design.
3. Add Images to the Canvas
Simply drag an image from the Collections Vault onto the canvas.
The image will appear on its own layer and can be moved, resized or rotated as needed.
4. Arrange and Layer Elements
You can build your design by layering images on top of each other.
Use the editing tools to:
• Move elements
• Resize images
• Rotate layers
• Crop images
• Adjust positioning
This allows you to create detailed layered craft designs.
5. Add Text and Sentiments
Use the Text Tool to add titles, sentiments or decorative wording to your project.
Text can be styled and positioned anywhere on the canvas.
6. Export or Print Your Design
Once your design is complete you can export it as a high-quality file or print it directly.
Atelier supports export formats such as:
• PNG
• JPG
• PDF
These formats are ideal for printable craft projects.
7. Keep Creating
Atelier is designed to encourage experimentation and creativity.
Try different layouts, mix elements from different collections and explore new ways of building your craft designs.
There are no limits to what you can create.
To remove items:
1. Open the Collections Vault folder on your computer (C:\Users[Your Username]\Documents\Atelier by Pearlywinks\Collections Vault)
2. Delete the image files or folders you no longer want
3. Restart or refresh Atelier
Those items will no longer appear in the vault.
Removing items from the vault does not affect designs you have already created.
All images and assets used in the Collections Vault are stored on your computer in the following folder:
C:\Users\[YOUR NAME}\Documents\Atelier by Pearlywinks\Collections Vault
You can open this folder at any time to add, organise or remove collections.
Each collection can be stored inside its own folder, allowing you to keep your craft assets neatly organised.
Yes.
Inside the Collections Vault you can create folders to organise your assets however you like. Many users create folders for things such as:
• Collections
• Animals
• Flowers
• Frames
• Background Papers
• Sentiments
Atelier will automatically display the images inside these folders in the Collections Vault.
Yes, and it is highly recommended.
Since your collections are stored in a folder on your computer, you can easily back them up by copying the Collections Vault folder to:
• An external hard drive
• A cloud storage service
• Another computer
Backing up your collections helps protect your craft assets.
